Multimedia

Multimedia is the presentation of information by a computer system using graphics, animation, sound and text. The data may be stored in a variety of ways using conventional computer storage devices, together with a picture database on CD-ROM. Output might be through VDUs, sound-generators and laser projectors. When you allow the viewer of a multimedia presentation, control of when and which elements are delivered, it is called interactive multimedia. Providing a series of linked elements through which the user can navigate is known as hypermedia.
