Task 32 - Capturing Video

To capture video in a format that can easily be captured and edited on a computer you should use a digital video camera.These cameras use conventional Mini DV video cassettes but have an interface allowing connection to a USB or Firewire port.

Video capture software facilitates the transfer of the recorded video files. Once stored on the computer the same software allows you to edit and publish a video file.


  • Record a section of digital video using the camera
  • Transfer your video clip to your computer using Windows Movie Maker
