Compare the statistics for developing and developed countries. Prepare a presentation on the problems this virus is causing in the developing world. Consider the following points:

  • Which age group is the most productive in any society?
  • Which age group are most likely to contract HIV/AIDS?
  • How does the virus affect young families?
  • How does the virus affect expectant mothers?
  • How does the virus affect a country's health service?
  • How does the virus affect a country's education?
  • How does the virus affect a country's economy?

Globalisation

Prepare a presentation on the globalisation process. Consider the following points:

  • What is meant by the term globalisation?
  • What does IMF stand for?
  • Which countries will have influence over the IMF?
  • Which countries will be most heavily influenced by the IMF?
  • What effect does debt have upon developing countries?
  • Why have many celebrities and individuals campaigned for debt relief for these countries?
