In this module you have studied the types and properties of computer graphics. You can scan images, use a digital camera to take pictures, download images from the internet or obtain images from clip art collections. Alternatively you can draw pictures yourself. This is often difficult with a mouse so you can use a hardware device called a graphics package to draw more naturally. The quality of a graphic is measured by its resolution, this is the number of pixels in the image. Vector graphics packages draw regular shapes that can be placed accurately on a grid. Bitmap images are stored as a collection of pixels. Animation graphics packages allow you to draw individual frames and animate them using a timeline. |
