Task 10 - Cut, Copy and Paste

Your computer has a special area of memory set aside for temporary storage. This is called the clipboard. Using the clipboard you can cut items of work and paste them to a new location in a document or using copy and paste allows you to make several duplicates of an item of work.

Cut The item is removed from where it is and put onto the clipboard.
Copy The item remains where it is and a copy is put onto the clipboard.
Paste Whatever is on the clipboard is copied into your current working area.

  • Enter the following text:

    Loyola 216 points

    Campion 163 points

    Ogilvie 192 points

    are the champions

  • Start Microsoft Word
  • Highlight the line with Campion
  • Cut the line
  • Move your cursor to below the Ogilvie line
  • Paste
  • Highlight the word Xavier
  • Copy
  • Move the cursor to the start of the last line
  • Paste
