Celtic Football Club has decided to set up a computer system so that they can send regular newsletters to members, and keep an up-to-date list of member’s details and subscriptions.

a) Articles for the newsletter will be provided in electronic form by members. Explain the importance of data standards in this situation.

b) Input validation is a feature provided by some application packages. Describe how the club could use application software to validate members’ details as they are entered.
